The Netherlands is famous for its clogs as well as its ceramic Delftware and the Museum collection has excellent examples of both. Clogs in the Netherlands range from the simple to the highly ornate and some of the Bata Shoe Museum's treasured clogs are beautifully carved. The delftware shoes were popular wedding gifts in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
