At the dawn of the 20th century, master shoemaker Pietro Yantorny was crafting exceptional, exclusive shoes in Paris that took years to create and hundreds of dollars to own. In fact, his shop sign proclaimed him as the most expensive shoemaker in the world. This shoe and its partner was generously donated by Mrs. Mary Weinmann whose mother and grandmother wore Yantorny's shoes. She, herself, remembered visiting the master shoemaker as a young girl. This pair had belonged to her grandmother, Countess Andre de Limur.
