These calfskin mukluks were made in Inuvik about 1990. They feature smoked hide soles and wolverine fur below the top band of Delta trim.

Seamstresses create individual mukluk variations by using different combinations of skins, fabrics and styles for the sole, vamp and leg shaft. Interaction between the Inuvialuit and the Inupiat, Copper Inuit and Dene is reflected in the great variation in Inuvialuit footwear and is evidence of a mutually enriching exchange of ideas.
