Vegetable Fibre Shoes

Grass grows in abundance in the foothills and high mountain valleys of the Himalayas. The straw from these grasses is used to make simple inexpensive shoes that insulate the foot from snow and mud. Shoes made from vegetable fibre are probably among India's most ancient and basic footwear styles.
