3-D Footwear
Level: 7 to 8 yearsGoals:
- Describe the position of an object in relation to a specific area
- Identify changes in the position of an object i.e. in movement upward or to the left
Description:
A special feature of the All About Shoes web exhibition is that many of the shoes can be moved or rotated using the directional buttons. This not only provides the ability to see all sides of the footwear, but it also offers the opportunity for students to practice describing the position and movement of objects (Grade 2 Science - Movement, in the Ontario curriculum). Provide some time for each student to interact with the two-dimensional objects, watching for their correct use of vocabulary (up, down, left, right) as they move the shoe.
Explore the three-dimensional images of the pokkuri geta. Ask your students to work with a partner and complete Worksheet 2 - 3-D Footwear as they manipulate the geta.
